Yolanda's Spuntino Casa
Created by Michael Mercanti, Lynn Mercanti and the late Morris Mercanti, Yolanda's is situated on Lake Ontario on what used to be the home to some of Oakville's first farmers markets and small fishing villages in a heritage building across from Bronte Harbour. Yolanda’s Spuntino Casa means “Yolanda’s Snack House”. With the help of Castor Design they have transformed the space into a rustic and charming Italian spuntino house with irresistible food and a warming ambience.
Yolanda is the name of Morris's mother who immigrated to Canada in 1956. Afternoons and evenings were spent around food and drink for hours on end with spuntino plates always being passed. The food memories from Yolanda's basement are what inspired this project.
Eating your way through our menu will be an exhilarating experience as we have created a modern take on classic Italian plates. Yolanda's takes inspiration from the family's Nonna Yolanda, our neighbourhood history as well as the regional influences of Central and Southern Italy. The menu highlights sustainable seafood, fresh handmade pasta, seasonal vegetables, classic Italian spuntino and a thoughtful Italian cocktail and wine list; Our Sommelier Peter Kline has put together a private label list from various regions in Italy that are not available in the LCBO.
Yolanda’s can proudly boast to having Oakville’s biggest and best waterfront outdoor patio, which has a retractable roof and heated concrete floors. Both the dining room and outdoor terrace can be used for private events, and we offer a wide range of off-site catering options as well.
