We had a lovely time hanging out at World Mastercard Fashion Week in Toronto last week. There were so many looks that had us drooling but we especially loved seeing the designers who incorporated bridal wear into their collections- OBVIOUSLY!
While we always love us some Vera Wang or Monique Lhuillier gowns, we love to support local designers the most. Below are 3 designers from the week who created bridal inspired looks that were spot on. Everything from fancy and dramatic gowns to more casual (perhaps a 2nd dress?) pieces were shown catering to any kind of bride.
Stephan Caras is a Toronto Fashion week veteran. He knows what’s up and because of that never disappoints. His bridal inspired pieces included lots of delicate ruffles, satin and pearl embellishments and an overall sexiness which had our jaws dropping. Definitely for the more adventurous bride!
Mikael Derderian, designer from the label Mikael D, debuted his latest collection of stunning gowns and we don’t think we would be able to choose which dress we liked best. Everyone was just out of this world. Each of the looks came with either glitzy jewels and sequins, sheer panels or plunging back lines. So into it!
David Dixon, another Canadian fashion week veteran, showcased a romantic collection that was made up of feminine frocks and dresses. Dixon knows what woman want and added in delicate material like lace and chiffon which created an overall dreamy mood. Our favourite look by far was the princess like white gown with flower detailing on the very left. Swoooon.
